The River Fleet – An initial trip
Every drainer who comes through London wants a piece of the River Fleet. One of London's most famous drains, and the largest subterranean river in London. Starting in Hamstead Heath, the river flows for 4 miles underground before reaching the Thames.
As one of my first trips back into the dark, damp, slightly smelly world of drains after the "Stinger incident" (more on that in another post...) I was suitably twitchy and nervous.
Silent Motions previous research had paid off, and we were straight in through our access point. Initially, the drain was nothing special. However, eventually, a long sweeping corner was spied, and I took what is in face on of my first passable drain shots:
